Manuscript Submission Guidelines and Editorial Policy
During this transition to the new publisher, please note the following submission guidelines:
- Submit manuscripts to [email protected].
(Notice that Gmail is preconditioned to put emails from strangers into the trash can the first time around. Gmail users are advised to check their trash can for our acknowledgment emails.) - Include two files of the complete manuscript in PDF format:
- one with the cover page containing all authors’ information, including their affiliation, mailing addresses, and email addresses.
- the other one will be used for the blind peer-review process and thus should only have the title and abstract on the cover page.
- Include a cover letter in PDF format with:
- the title of the manuscript
- a statement that the manuscript includes only original material that has not been previously published and is not under review elsewhere
All manuscripts are expected to follow the APA Style Format (7th edition). Limit manuscripts to 30 pages of text, exclusive of tables and figures. Manuscripts must be double-spaced, including the title page, abstract, text, quotes, acknowledgments, references, and appendices. Place tables on separate pages. Include copies of all figures. Number all pages consecutively.
When a manuscript has been accepted, the lead author will be required to submit original graphic files, camera-ready figures, a copy of the final manuscript in both Word and PDF formats, and the signed copyright-transfer agreement. Authors are asked to review proofs before publication. Reprints of articles are available for purchase at the time the manuscript is published.
Peer Review of Manuscripts
Manuscripts are anonymously peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers appropriate for the article's topic and content. The editor will maintain the anonymity of the author(s) and reviewers during the review process. The review process requires two to three rounds, each spanning four to six months.
Advertising Policy
The Journal of Applied Measurement does not accept any advertisements.
Research Ethics Policy
a. Policy on Conflict of Interest: All authors and co-authors are required to disclose any potential conflict of interest when they submit a manuscript to the Journal of Applied Measurement for review. All authors are required to disclose both financial and non-financial interests that could subject the presentation in their manuscript to biased interpretation.
b. Policy on Human and Animal Rights: All authors must obtain approval from the Institutional Review Board (IRB) or equivalent ethics committee of their affiliated universities or institutes whenever human or animal participants are involved. Evidence of such approval must be submitted for inspection as part of the manuscript submission process. All authors are required to operate within established ethical guidelines throughout the entire research process.
c. Inform Consent Policy: Information regarding informed consent from the research participants should be provided to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for their approval and then to our journal upon manuscript submission.
Correction and Retraction Policy
Whenever an error or ethical concern is identified by members of our editorial board or reported to the journal by our readers, an arbitrating committee will be set up, chaired by the Chief Editor and two members from the Editorial Board based on their background and their familiarity with the case. This committee will conduct a thorough review by gathering relevant information, consulting experts in the fields, as well as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of the authors’ institution. This committee will determine the severity of the case with commonly accepted ethical principles. The appropriate action will then be discussed, and a decision regarding correction or retraction will be made accordingly. A formal notice regarding the article will then be sent to the authors and, at the same time, published on our website as well as in our next issue.
